The Indian Society of Scientific Education & Farmers Welfare (ISSEFW) is a premier national platform committed to advancing scientific knowledge, innovation and capacity building in the fields of veterinary, animal health, agricultural and allied sciences. ISSEFW serves as a bridge between scientists, educators, veterinarians, policy-makers, farmers and industry stakeholders to promote evidence-based practices, rural development,and sustainable agriculture & animal health.

Membership in ISSEFW offers an opportunity to become part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary professional network dedicated to research, knowledge sharing, farmer and livestock owner empowerment and policy advocacy in veterinary and allied sectors.

                                                     Membership Overview

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Any individual fulfilling one or more of the following may apply for membership:

    1. Students / Scholars

      • Enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral or diploma programs in Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Medical Sciences, Agricultur,Agricultural engineering, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or Allied disciplines.

      • Must provide proof of enrollment (student ID, admission letter, etc.)

    2. Researchers / Scientists / Academics

      • Employed or engaged in research, teaching or extension work in Veterinary, Animal , Medical Sciences, Agriculture or related fields

      • May include postdoctoral fellows, research associates, assistant professors, lecturers, senior faculty or principal investigators

      • Should provide a CV / list of academic or research credentials.

    3. Veterinarians / Animal Health Practitioners

      • Registered or certified Veterinarians or Animal health professionals or those practicing in clinical, field or extension roles.

      • May include livestock extension officers, para-veterinarians or veterinary practitioners.

    4. Agricultural / Allied Professionals & Extension Workers

      • Individuals involved in farming, agricultural extension, livestock management, rural development or allied sectors who wish to engage with scientific education and outreach.

      • May include agronomists, animal husbandry professionals, farm managers, NGO workers and such.

    5. Institutions / Corporates / Organizations (Corporate Membership)

      • Universities, research institutions, Veterinary colleges, agricultural extension agencies, NGOs, companies related to animal/veterinary/agricultural products or services,

      • Must provide institutional credentials and designated representative(s).

    6. Other Interested Professionals

      • Professionals from allied scientific disciplines (e.g. epidemiology, public health, microbiology, environmental science) who support or collaborate in animal / agricultural / One Health research, policy or outreach.

     
  • Have paid the applicable membership fee
  • Not be declared insolvent or of unsound mind
  • Not have been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude

ISSEFW offers multiple categories to suit diverse professional profiles:

1️⃣ Life Member

  • One-time fee; valid for lifetime
  • Ideal for professionals seeking long-term affiliation in veterinary, medical, agriculture or related sciences.

2️⃣ Student Member

  • Annual membership; renewable.
  • Designed for students in veterinary, medical, agriculture or allied science programmes.

3️⃣ Corporate / Institutional Member

  • For institutions, universities, veterinary colleges, breeding stations, societies or firms.
  • Promotes institutional collaboration, visibility and collective impact in veterinary, medical, agricultural and allied fields.

4️⃣ Patron Member

  • For distinguished scientists, research managers or benefactors.
  • Nominated by the Executive Committee
    Recognized for their support and contributions.

5️⃣ Honorary Fellow / Fellow Member (F-ISSEFW)

  • An honorific rank conferred by invitation of the Executive Committee.
  • Entitles the holder to use the designation F-ISSEFW.
  • Reserved for eminent individuals with outstanding contributions in veterinary, animal health, agricultural or public health domains.
